Loctune (the “App”) is developed and operated by Abhishek Heer (“we”, “our”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use our music player application.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the App’s core functionality.
Account data – When you sign up using email/password or Google Sign-In, we store your email address, a unique user ID (UUID), and optional profile information (display name, bio, avatar URL, public profile setting). This data is stored in our secure database (Supabase) and is used to identify you, manage your uploaded songs, and to show your public profile to others (if you choose to make it public).
Local device audio – With your explicit permission, the app scans your device’s local storage to list your audio files. We do not upload, copy, or transfer these local songs to our servers; they remain only on your device and are never shared.
Uploaded songs and cover art – If you use the premium feature to upload your own songs, we store the audio file and optional cover image in Supabase Storage. These files are linked to your user ID and are only accessible by you (or other users if you set your profile to public) via signed, time‑limited URLs.
Usage data – We may collect anonymised usage statistics (e.g., which features are used) to improve the App. This data cannot be traced back to you.
Device permissions – The App asks for permissions to read media audio (for local playback), post notifications (to show media controls), and foreground service (to play music in the background). You may revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s settings.
2. How we use your information
Provide, maintain, and improve the App (local playback, cloud uploads, playlist management, premium subscriptions).
Enable social features – your public profile (if you opt in) will be visible to other Loctune users, showing your uploaded songs, display name, bio, and avatar.
Process in‑app purchases (subscriptions, diamond packs) via Google Play Billing – we do not store your payment credentials; all transactions are handled securely by Google.
Send important service notifications (e.g., subscription renewal reminders) through in‑app messages.
Respond to support inquiries and troubleshoot technical issues.
3. Third‑party services
Loctune integrates with the following third‑party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) – Displays banner ads to non‑premium users. AdMob may collect device advertising ID and usage data. You can opt out of personalised ads via your device settings. Google Ads Policies
We do not use any unofficial or third‑party music APIs. All online content is either user‑uploaded (and stored in Supabase) or obtained through official Google services.
4. Data retention & deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data (profile, uploaded songs, playlists) by contacting us at the email below. When you delete your account, we will permanently erase your personal information and uploaded files from our servers within 30 days. Local device music is never uploaded and remains only on your device.
5. Security
We use industry‑standard security measures (encryption, signed URLs, secure authentication) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children’s privacy
Loctune is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, as well as to restrict or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, please contact us at the email below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy within the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after the changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
